Here are some tips to find happiness in life and to not be discouraged. It’s helped me and others through life’s rough patches. You probably won't be able to be happy all the time, but with these tips, you will be happy a majority of the time, which is what is important to your well-being.
l. Write your goal(s) down.
Make sure to write your goals down, and to keep them in front of you. If you want to be a published writer, for instance, put that goal on a piece of paper and tape it to your computer desk. Wherever you will see it, and look at it often.
2. Aim high, but reach for a reasonable goal.
Aiming too high will just make you discouraged and you won’t keep at it. Make sure the goal(s) you’re striving for is a match to your educational level, skill, etc. Write down what your interests are and keep that in mind when you are setting a goal.
3. Don’t let others say you can’t do it.
I have always heard successful people say that they didn’t listen to people who told them they couldn’t succeed. After all, they don't know you any better than you know yourself and only you can decide what is right for you.
4. Stay around encouraging and helpful friends and family.
Instead of being around negative people who will just make you feel bad, be friends with positive people who’ll make you feel good about yourself. That way, you’ll have a better chance of having your goals reached. Having confidence is one of the keys to being happy.
5. Network with others.
Tell your neighbors, friends, clerks, etc. your goal(s) and see if they can find ways to help you. Also help them as well. Don't be shy about it and they will see that you are serious with your vision.
6. Don’t give up.
No matter how many things go wrong, don’t stop trying. Trying brings you that much closer to succeeding.
7. Write down every day, “I will succeed.”
Write it down on a piece of paper twenty times "I will succeed," so it will sink in. Live and breath it. You will find that success will come more naturally to you if you believe in yourself, even if you get no encouragement from others.
Following these tips should help you to reach that special goal of yours and feel fulfilled and happy with your life.
