If there is one ingredient/spice in this world that my body craves on many occasions, it is Garlic. One of my all time favorite foods is garlic bread.

I spent most of my life making quick garlic bread combinations. Usually, this consisted of hot dog buns, butter spread on top, and garlic salt to top it off.

However, often times, I feel like I am eating more of the bread then savoring the amazing taste that garlic leaves on my taste buds.

I began experimenting with a couple of ways to make a great tasting home cooked garlic bread and I believe I have found one.

Below are steps and pictures of making this garlic bread that I crave on a weekly basis.

Step 1

Go to your local grocery store and grab a loaf of italian bread. In my case, I wasn’t making A TON of garlic bread, so half a loaf is all I needed.

Step 2

Grab a small - medium skillet and throw in 5 tablespoons of butter. Turn the stove temperature to medium and let the butter slowly begin to melt.

Step 3

Locate a jar of minced garlic cloves. You will probably have to buy this unless you feel like making your own. In my case, I bought a small jar at Krogers.

Step 4

Throw in 1 1/2 teaspoons of Garlic Cloves into your already melting butter. Grab a mixing utensil to spread the cloves around in the butter.

Step 5

While the butter continues to melt (it should already be completly melted), add in a few pinches of Pepper and a generous portion of garlic salt. I like to use a lot of garlic salt, but a good recommendation would be 2-3 tablespoons. Always add small and increase as you can add all you want, you just can’t take away.

Once those two items are added, your garlic/butter mixture should look like the following picture:

Step 6

Cut up the loaf of italian bread into segments that would represent each garlic bread piece.

Grab a cookie sheet and pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees.

Step 7

Using cooking tongs, take each bread segment and coat each side with the garlic butter you have just created. Place them back on the cookie sheet. Place the cookie sheet into the pre-heated oven and cook for 10 minutes. Check periodically to make sure they don’t get burnt. Check the bottom’s of each garlic piece. If the bottom’s are golden brown, then flip each one over. Cook for another 5 minutes.

Step 8

Once your garlic bread is cooked to your specific crispiness, remove it from the oven, place next to your desired entree (spaghetti, pasta alfredo, etc…), eat, and enjoy :)
